The official introduction of the Pixel 8 series is set for October 4th, during the forthcoming Google event scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.

With just one month remaining until this highly anticipated event, there's a growing curiosity surrounding the features of the upcoming Pixel phones.

However, Google has not yet confirmed the availability of its flagship Pixel 8 phones in the Indian market. In the past, India did not receive the Pixel 4, Pixel 5, and Pixel 6, but the Pixel 7 was launched in the country.

The absence of the Pixel 6 was due to supply chain challenges, as stated by the tech giant. While there are expectations that the Pixel 8 series will be released in India, there is a lack of concrete rumors to support this claim.

The decision may also depend on the sales performance of the Pixel 7 series in India. Until we receive official confirmation of the India launch, let's take a look at the leaked specifications and expected pricing.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Launch on October 4: Expected Prices

According to reports from TheTechOutlook and information from tipster Paras Guglani, there are rumors suggesting that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro may be priced significantly higher in European markets.

It's important to note that Indian prices generally tend to be lower than those in Europe. The Pixel 8 with 128GB of storage might be priced around EUR 874 (approximately Rs 78,000) including taxes, or EUR 710 (roughly Rs 63,370) excluding tax.

As for the Pixel 8 Pro, it is rumored to start at $1,235 (around Rs 1,10,220) for the 128GB storage variant, inclusive of taxes.

In India, Google typically launches phones at their original set prices without accounting for Europe's tax system.

Therefore, the expected price range for the Pixel 8 in India is between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000. Please note that this is not the official pricing but rather a prediction based on leaks and past product launches.

To provide some context, the Pixel 7 was announced in India for Rs 59,999, and the Pixel 7 Pro for Rs 84,999. These prices were revealed at the conclusion of the global event. Therefore, if the new Pixel 8 series is indeed coming to India, we can expect official pricing details to be announced on October 8th.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: Leaked Specifications

The Google Pixel 8 is rumored to feature a compact 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits and a pixel density of 427 ppi. If these rumors hold true, it should be a welcome feature for fans of smaller-sized phones.

The Pixel 8 is expected to be powered by Google's next-generation flagship Tensor G3 chipset, paired with the latest UFS 4.0 storage for speedy file access.

Regarding its rear camera setup, the Pixel 8 may feature a 50-megapixel GN2 primary sensor, a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor.

This new camera configuration is expected to improve light processing by 35 percent and enhance HDR capabilities. Users may also have the capability to record 8K videos at 30fps. On the front, leaks suggest an 11-megapixel camera designed for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the upcoming Pixel 8 is rumored to house a 4,485mAh battery with support for 24W fast wired charging. Google is also expected to offer 20W wireless charging, although a charger may not be included in the retail package, following the company's recent practice.

As for the Pixel 8 Pro, it could feature a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED display. The front camera is expected to be an 11-megapixel unit. On the back, the phone might boast a triple-camera setup, including a 50-megapixel OIS-enabled primary camera, a 64-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 49-megapixel telephoto lens. The design is likely to combine glass and metal, reminiscent of the previous year's Pixel 7 Pro.

Under the hood of the Pixel 8 Pro, you can anticipate finding a Google Tensor G3 SoC, a 4,950mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging (charger not included), a Titan security chip, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a temperature monitoring sensor, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Please bear in mind that these details are based on leaks and rumors, and the official specifications and pricing will be unveiled at the October 4th event.
